CUEOVER FAQ

Questions, answered
before you go live.

Quick guidance for Live Studio, desktop apps, voice matching, alerts, OBS and CueOver Pro.

Getting started

Getting started

What does CueOver do?

CueOver connects to your live chat, listens for the message you are reading aloud and turns the match into a polished on-stream alert. You can also select a message manually whenever you prefer.

Can I try CueOver in my browser?

Yes. Open Live Studio to connect chat, test voice matching and customise alerts on the web. For a live stream, the macOS or Windows app gives you the best experience because it can keep CueOver active while your game or streaming software is in front.

Do I need an account to try Live Studio?

No. Guest mode lets you explore Live Studio and preview alerts locally. A free account is required to create a private OBS browser-source URL and keep your settings connected to your creator account.

Which computers can run CueOver?

Live Studio works in a modern web browser. The dedicated CueOver app is available for macOS and Windows, with builds provided on the Download page.

Why aren’t matched chat messages appearing automatically?

First check that the CueOver Voice Engine is listening and Auto trigger is enabled in the Voice Engine panel. Auto trigger sends confident voice matches directly to the alert preview and OBS. If it is off, matched messages remain available for manual selection. Also confirm the correct microphone is selected and raise the sensitivity slightly if matches are consistently missed.

Can I show a chat message without reading it aloud?

Yes. Choose any message in the Twitch Chat panel to display it manually. Manual message selection is included in both Free and Pro.

Can I preview Pro alerts before upgrading?

Yes. Free creators can preview Pro themes, motion and alert tones inside Live Studio. If you save or apply a setup containing Pro options, CueOver shows which selected features require an upgrade.

Can I upload my own alert tone?

Custom alert tone uploads are a Pro feature. The upload control remains visible in Live Studio so Free creators can see where it lives; selecting it explains the upgrade requirement.

How do I add CueOver to OBS?

Sign in, copy your private browser-source URL from Live Studio and add it to OBS as a Browser Source at 1920 × 1080. Leave custom CSS empty. The desktop app can provide a local source while it is running.

Why is my alert visible in Live Studio but not OBS?

Confirm the browser-source URL in OBS matches the current URL shown in Live Studio, then use Send test. If you regenerated the URL, replace the previous one in OBS. Also make sure the Browser Source is visible and positioned above your game capture.

Does CueOver store microphone audio?

CueOver uses speech recognition to match the words you say with recent chat messages. It does not need to save a recording of your microphone audio to show an alert.
